We need you and our dogs need you!
Our volunteers are the backbone of PUP. Without them, dogs and cats would not make it to their foster home, receive medical care or training, or find good homes.
Because you love dogs and would like to surround yourself with other people who share the same passion. If you would like to participate as a PUP volunteer, here is a list of some of the activities our volunteers can choose from:
This is an interim stop for a dog or cat. As a foster, you care for, train, and socialize the dog or cat
while a good permanent home is found. You may also be involved in transporting the pet to the vet when needed and will
participate in the adoption process. Learn more about our foster program
. Once you've gained some experience and
been through some additional training, you might become an adoption facilitator, handling scheduled meet & greet
appointments and finalizing adoptions.
Do you love meeting dogs and cats? Meeting people? Introducing dogs and cats to people? If you are socially
outgoing, this may be the perfect volunteer activity for you! Event volunteers help with set up and clean up, walk dogs
and talk with the public about our program and the adoption process.
We need dedicated drivers who can shuttle dogs or cats from shelters, to vet appointments,
training sessions and more.
Although fosters work on crate training, housetraining, and leash training, some pets require additional work. Volunteer trainers help by working with our
fosters and pets on techniques to resolve other behavioral issues.
This training can have a very positive impact on the pet's future placement.
There are numerous tasks involved. Your administrative skills in bookkeeping,
scheduling, tracking, processing or completing paperwork are important and vital elements in having PUP run
effectively and efficiently.
