Doodle (aka Lacey)

Posted on May 11, 2016

It's been one year since we adopted Lacey (now Doodle) from PUP rescue. She has greatly enriched our lives and become my unofficial emotional support dog. She still struggles with stranger anxiety and occasional potty training accidents but to me those issues are a small price to pay for the joy she has brought our family.

Most people think Doodle is a chihuahua/dachshund mix but after doing a DNA kit we got on Amazon.com we found out she is half miniature pincher, a quarter chihuahua and a quarter shih tzu!

Doodle2 2It took about 9 months, but Doodle now gets along with our free-range hens. She hangs out with them in the backyard side by side and has completely stopped chasing and harassing them. She also keeps our 9-year-old pug and 13-year-old cat on their toes. There is never a dull moment in our household!

I continually share the PUP rescue Facebook page to my friends and coworkers and tell people about the group. I am thankful for all animal rescue groups but I feel PUP stands above in the way it is organized and functions.

Thank you for helping animals in need and connecting me with this wonderful dog!
